Fat loss and weight lifting

Was recently asked if it is safe to lift weights while on a diet. If you are in good health, it is safe to lift weights while on a diet. But more importantly, it is good lift weights to lose weight while dieting.

But let's be more precise in stating your objective. Should not diet to lose weight, but should diet to lose fat. Weight is not the enemy. Excess fat is the enemy. To lose the excess fat requires a combination of changes in diet and exercise. However, for permanent fat loss, you must make the right dietary changes and exercise of the right.

While the diet you are trying to create a calorie deficit, so that your body will burn calories stored. The trick is to get your body to burn calories are stored as fat. You want to maximize fat loss and minimize the loss of lean tissue. You can be thin and soft. The goal is to be lean and skinny.

Have you wondered why so many people who lose weight during the diet of gain back more weight when they end their diets? They ultimately because while diet lose muscle mass. It takes more calories to maintain muscle to keep the fat, so the loss of mass lowering their metabolism of muscle. After weight loss their metabolic rate is lower, which means that it takes less calories for them to maintain their weight, so when resumed their normal habits you are taking in more calories than they need and accumulates fat again. They end up fatter than they were before they started dieting.

Diet is not the only way to create a calorie deficit. You can create a calorie deficit by exercising. Strength training weightlifting, or with other media maintains and develops the muscles while you lose fat. This will maintain or increase the resting metabolic rate, so that it becomes easier to control your weight.

Strength training has other benefits as well. Stressing bone increases bone density. Strengthen muscles and protects the joints. Increases stamina. Strength training can also help you sleep better. So in addition to lose fat, you can improve your health in other ways lifting weights.

Yes, it is safe to lift weights while the diet, but it is not only safe. It is good to lift weights while the diet because it makes your fat loss program more effective. Even if you use a diet plan that does not require exercise, you should add a component. So get the permission of the doctor to do strength training and begin to lift weights or do other exercises of resistance to preserve and build your lean muscle mass while fat is lost.
