Go with the heavier weights, raise eight to ten times. You should put only the weight down when you can't lift it again. That is called lifting to failure, and it is absolutely essential to put on muscle.

And don't be intimidated by all men lifting free weights. A lot of women avoid that area, because they feel they belong, or feel that men do not believe that belong to us. It is not true. Those guys, weightlifting, first of all, focus on what they're doing. They are not paying attention to who is lifting weights. You have paid, just as they, for the right to use those weights. They're yours as much as them. And most, if not all men see women who lift weights. So jump right in.
